Men’s Basketball drops consecutive road game to UT Southern

PULASKI, Tenn. (Feb. 10, 2024) - The Point University Men's Basketball Team returned to the court for a Southern States Athletic Conference road matchup against the University of Tennessee Southern where the Skyhawks fell to UT Southern with a final score of 94-62. 

The first half opened with the Firehawks going on a 16-1 run until Robert Kendrick halted the run with Robert Kendrick. Point continued to look to find their way back as Kendrick added a three-pointer which was followed by a layup from Jeremiah Smith. The half continued with Sam Rees adding a three-pointer and Vince Graves followed with a jumper to bring the score to 32-17. Robert Kendrick ended the half with the final basket for the Skyhawks to end the half with the Firehawks leading 46-20  

Ricardo Luis Ortiz and Theron Montgomery opened the scoring column in the second half for Point. Cameron Wickline and Jeremiah Smith followed two more scores for the Skyhawks as the Skyhawks looked to find life on the offensive side. The Firehawks kept the lead for the rest of the half as Justice Hayes and Vince Graves scored the final baskets for the Skyhawks to end the game with a final score of 94-62. 

In the Box 

Justice Hayes led with 11 Points and one steal. Robert Kendrick added 10 Points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
