Eleven Firehawks Honored on Senior Day, No. 10 UT Southern Pummels Point

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's basketball team honored 11 seniors on Saturday with a lopsided 94-62 win over Point. UTS eclipsed 90-points for the sixth time this season as five players reached double figures. Seniors Adarion Hudson, Malik Tyson, Tyson Griffin, Brandon Brown, Tad Sivley, CJ Greer, CJ Wilson, Brady Brown, Kendall Wright, Jalen Huff, and Hayden Burks were honored. Hudson led all scorers with 15 points and eight assists. Tyson added 14 points, connecting on three triples. Brady Brown and Wright each tossed in 12 points. Sivley contributed 11 in the win.

UT Southern (23-2, 17-0) shot 59 percent, 20 of 34 from the field in the first half. Hudson led all scorers with 13 of his points in the opening half. Brady Brown pitched in all of his 12 in the first half. Point (6-18, 0-16) would struggle early, not scoring a field goal in the first six minutes. The Firehawks would continue to stretch the lead to 26 at the break.

In the final half, the #10 Firehawks would continue to pull away and enjoy their largest lead at 44 with under eight minutes left in the game. Tyson exploded for 11 in the second half. The good guys would light the nets on fire shooting 61 percent, 19-31 from the field. The Firehawks outrebounded the Skyhawks 28-22.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will begin the final regular season road trip, traveling to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face William Carey. UTS and WCU will tip off at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, February 15th. The teams met earlier this season in Pulaski. UTS defeated WCU 90-71.
