Point Volleyball falls to Milligan in a sweep

Play-by-play (25-20, 25-19, 25-10) 

Milligan started the first set with a quick 4-0 lead until Sarah Baucham notched the first kill for the Skyhawks. Point matched the effort from the Buffalos by tying it at five to keep the game within reach. Both teams continued to trade scores throughout the set until Milligan took a two-point lead to make it 12-10. Two errors from the Buffalos and a service ace from Whitney Ward put the Skyhawks ahead by one, but that would not last long after two attack errors from Point put Milligan ahead. Kelsey Turner returned with a kill to force the tie once more for the Skyhawks. The Buffaloes stayed within their gameplan as they scored the next two points to now lead 16-14. Abigail Hardwick took the next two scores with kills for Point to tie the game once more, but Greyson Stevens from Milligan helped her team push ahead with the lead again. Jadakate Judkins added a tie to the set again with a kill, but an error from Point on the next play gave Milligan the next score. Sameily Marquez scored the next two kills for the Skyhawks, but Point was still trailing by one. The Skyhawks were unable to jump back ahead as the Buffaloes went on a 5-1 run to end the set. 

Milligan carried their momentum over into the second set with a 7-3 start, but the Skyhawks added the next three scores to now trail by one. Milligan remain unfazed as they took a 7-0 run to now lead 14-6, but an attack error on their end ended the run. Point scored the next five points after the Buffaloes' errors caught up to them to now trail 14-11. Milligan took the next two scores, but the Skyhawks started to roll after a few kills from Keylany Matos and a service ace from Kristina Faison to now tie the game at 16. After the timeout from the Buffaloes, they took a 5-0 run to now push themselves closer to the match point. Matos scored the next two points for the Skyhawks with kills which were followed by one from Lauren Watford, but Milligan halted the late comeback effort from Point to take the second set. 

Milligan jumped into the third set with a hot start with a score of 11-3. A service error on their end ended the run, which was then followed by a kill from Abigail Hardwick. The Buffaloes took the next score and Sameily Marquez responded with a kill for the Skyhawks to now trail 13-6. Milligan continued to find their way by adding three more scores without allowing much from Point's offense. Marquez added another kill which was then followed by an attack error from Milligan. The Buffaloes only allowed one more score before finishing the set off on a 6-1 run to win the match in a sweep. 

In the box 

Abigail Hardwick led the Skyhawks with six kills, and Keylany Matos followed with five. Samiely Marquez also contributed five kills for Point. Jordan Palmer tallied 13 digs for the Point on the defensive end. Paige Lowe dished out 19 assists.
