Track and Field Returns with a Statement for the 2024 Season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala (Jan. 14, 2024) - The Point University Men's and Women's Track Team Opened their 2024 Campaign at the Emory Crossplex Showdown in Birmingham, Alabama where the Skyhawks picked up where they left off by showing how hungry they were to make a statement.

The day started strong with Anna Brown setting a new women's indoor 3,000m record with a time of 11:46.82. 

Directly following was the men's 3000m where Lane Thompson set Point's overall freshman 3,000m record with a time of 9:41.45. Teammates Elijah Pace and Jesse Baldwin are just behind. 

In the 60m dash, Chazmere Anderson tied her school record with a time of 8.61. 

Javien Leeks and Ashley Bowden set new school records for the 300m. Leeks finished with a time of 37.42, and Bowden with a time of 49.36. 

The day finished with both the men's and women's Distance Medley Relay teams setting new school records. The men finished with a time of 11:47.88, and the women completed the race in 15:02.42
