Women’s Soccer falls to Dalton State in road SSAC Play

DALTON, Ga. (Oct. 22, 2023) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch for a Sunday afternoon Southern States Athletic Conference matchup on the road at Dalton State where the Skyhawks fell 5-0. 

The first half started with the Roadrunners scoring in the opening seven minutes of the match to take the 1-0 lead. The Skyhawks looked to respond in hopes of getting their offense going, but Dalton State found a way to outduel Point with their consistent offensive pace. The roadrunners would continue to take climb their way into scoring territory as multiple shots on goal were taken which paid dividends by scoring their second goal in the last 31 seconds of the first half. 

With Dalton State leading 2-0 to begin the second half, the Roadrunners picked up where they left off by scoring their third goal to lead by three. The half finished with Dalton State not allowing Point a single shot while adding two more goals to win 5-0.

Kelly Rowland made the start as Goalkeeper and finished with eight saves in the matchup.
