Women’s Soccer falls in a nail biter to the Barons on the road

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. (Oct. 5, 2023) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch for a Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against Brewton-Parker College, where the Skyhawks fell 1-0.

The first half began with the Skyhawks getting their offense going by taking a few shots on goal, which would be unsuccessful. The battle for the first score continued to be the theme of the half as both teams continued to fire away on goal. With three minutes left in the half, Brewton-Parker successfully got their first score of the match to go into the break with a 1-0 lead.

The second half started with Point taking the first shot of the half to continue to find ways to open their offense up. The defense of the Skyhawks made the second half theirs as they would not have another score with Kelly Rowland securing multiple saves. Brewton-Parker took the air away as the match continued by holding home-field advantage and not allowing the Skyhawks to tie the game, ending the match with the Barons winning 1-0.
