Skyhawks blanked by Night Hawks

WEST POINT, Ga. (Sept. 5, 2021) – The Point University women's soccer team hosted Thomas University Sunday afternoon at River Bowl Stadium and fell to the Night Hawks 2-0.

Both teams got off to a slow start, with Thomas taking the game's first shot at the 12-minute mark. The Night Hawks would take three more shots in the first half, with the final shot connecting for a goal with 1:08 left in the half.

Thomas would extend their lead out of the break, with a goal in the 52nd minute, and the Skyhawks were unable to make a comeback, despite outshooting the Night Hawks 11-7.

Vanessa Lara and Carmen Kager combined for seven of Point's shots, with Lara taking four and Kager taking three.

Up next, the Skyhawks will turn their attention to Appalachian Athletic Conference play as they travel to St. Andrews University on Sunday, Sept. 12, to open conference play against the Knights. Kick off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
