McMillan nabs player of the week honors

WEST POINT, Ga. (Jan. 31, 2022) – Iyanna McMillan of the Point University women's basketball team has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference women's basketball player of the week for the second time in her career. The AAC made the announcement Monday for the week ending Jan. 30.

McMillan led the Skyhawks to two victories last week, scoring a season-high of 28 points in Point's win over St. Andrews and 22 points in the Skyhawks' victory over Reinhardt. She averaged 25.0 points and shot 51.5 percent. McMillan was 8-of-14 from 3-point range. 

McMillan is averaging 15.8 points per game, ranking No. 12 in the AAC in total points with 281 points. 

McMillan and the Skyhawks hosted Montreat College Monday night and defeated the Cavaliers 72-63. McMillan recorded her 1,000th career point during Monday afternoon's game. 

Point returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 3, as they host Brenau in an AAC contest. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
