Jennifer Tyler begins her 13th season as Point University’s head softball coach and has been the only head coach in Skyhawk softball history. 

2023 Season: The Skyhawks finished the season with a record of 27-23 overall and 18-10 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play which served as their final year in the conference. The season included the Skyhawks going on an eight-game winning streak which was the highest of the season. Point Softball went into the AAC Tournament as the #5 seed where their season came to a close as the Skyhawks fell to Tennessee Wesleyan and Milligan. Under Tyler's direction, the Skyhawks finished with Three All-Conference players (Two First Team and One Second Team), the AAC Softball Player of the Year, and 14 AAC All-Academic Players. Jennifer Tyler would also coach her first All-American in Point Softball History as Haley Lyner was named as a NAIA Second Team All-American.

2022 Season: The Skyhawks had another winning season, finishing 32-20 and going 18-10 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. The Skyhawks entered the AAC tournament as the No. 7 seed and Point's season came to an end against Truett McConnell in the losers bracket. Haley Lyner earned AAC All-Conference recognition (second team) and Asia Jones earned a spot on the AAC All-Tournament team. 

The 2021 season saw the Skyhawks finish with their best record in program history, as Point went 27-11. Point entered the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Skyhawks defeated Tennessee Wesleyan to advance to the winner's bracket before falling to Brenau. The Skyhawks battled in the losers bracket, defeating Bryan, before losing to Truett McConnell, who would go on to make an appearance in the NAIA Softball National Championship tournament. 

Before the 2020 season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic, Tyler led the Skyhawks to an 11-12 record and a 6-6 record in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. 

The 2019 team finished the season with a 31-19 record and tied for sixth in the regular-season AAC standings.

The 2018 team went 28-25 and tied for fifth in the regular-season AAC standings.

The 2017 squad won 31 games, lost 22, and went 12-8 in AAC action, and Point's 2016 team posted a 28-27 overall record and tied for sixth place in the AAC regular-season standings with a 9-11 record.

Before Point, Tyler served as junior varsity softball head coach for Lee University (2010-11).  She also served as assistant softball coach at Lee University (2009-11), where she helped guide the Flames to a 122-35 record over three seasons. While at Lee University, she earned her master’s degree in the art of teaching.

Before her stint at Lee University, she worked as an assistant coach at Donelson Christian Academy (2008) in Nashville, Tennessee. 

Tyler, a 2007 graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology.  Also, a four-year letter-winner for the softball program, she owns the career and single-season home run record (23) for TNU.  She helped her team to its first two NAIA National Tournament appearances (2006, 2007) where it finished number five in the nation both years. 

As a prolific power hitter, she earned NAIA All-Region First-Team and NFCSA All-Region First-Team (2006, 2007), TranSouth All-Conference First-Team (2006, 2007), NFCA and NAIA First-Team All-American (2007). For her impact on the diamond, Tyler was inducted into the Trevecca Nazarene University Hall of Fame as a student-athlete in 2012.

Tyler and her husband John, who serves as the Point University head baseball coach, have one daughter.
