Cross country competes in AAC Championships

CANTON, Ga. (Nov. 6, 2021) – The Point University men's and women's cross country programs competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships Saturday morning in Canton, Georgia. The men finished in 10th out of a field of 14 teams, and the women's team did not record a score as they had less than five runners compete.

In the women's 5k, Hayley Akbari finished in 92nd place with a time of 25:30, Macy Babbs finished in 106th with a time of 28:50, Maddie Donnelly finished in 111th place with 34:37, and A'zahnany Cottle finished in 113th place with a time of 36:49.

Milligan won on the women's side.

In the men's 8k, Point finished with 277 points and was led by Micah Burdette, who finished in 45th place with a time of 27:39.3. Burdette's time is his fourth fastest time in his career and his fastest race of the season, by 34 seconds. Elijah Pace followed in 57th place with a time of 28:03.4, Austin Hemphill was next in 91st with a time of 31:19. Also representing the Skyhawks was Judah Myers, who finished in 106th place with a time of 35:05.2, and Jacob Copeland was next in 111th with a time of 36:15.3.

Milligan won on the men's side.

With the completion of Saturday's meet, the Skyhawks cross country season is complete. Point will now turn its attention to track season.
