Men’s Tennis defeats Lagrange in a road matchup

LAGRANGE, Ga. (Sept. 22, 2023) - The Point University Men's Tennis team returned to action for a cross-town matchup at Lagrange College on Friday, September 22, where Point defeated the Panthers 7-0. 

Point's momentum got off to a good start as the Skyhawks breezed past the Panthers, earning a win in every doubles matchup. For No. 1 Doubles, Louis Van Camp and Daan Miltenburg won 6-2; At No. 2 Doubles, Martin Brena and Erick Manuel Cruz won 8-4; and at No. 3 Doubles, Bryant Morales and Yuta Yoshkawa won 8-1.  

Louis Van Camp surged for the win at No.1 at 6-2 and 6-0 in the singles matches. At No.2 Daan Miltenburg earned the win at 6-0 and 6-1. Erick Manuel Cruz followed at No. 3, winning 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4, Martin Brena won 6-2 and will look forward to progressing further. At No.5, Newcomer Yuta Yoshkawa impressed many nearby fans, winning 7-5, 6-2. At No. 6, Bryant Morales won 6-2, 6-1, and made a loud impact on the court to pick up where he left off from the previous 2022-23 season.

The Men's Tennis team will now focus on their training and start gearing up for 2024 Action, as their next official match will be February 5th against Wallace State in Carrollton, Ga, at 1:00 P.M.
