Mark Wozniak is entering his fifth season as head coach of the Point men’s soccer program. Wozniak was promoted to head coach in the summer of 2019. He served as the assistant coach for the men’s team since January of 2018.

2021 was a historic season for the men's soccer program, as the Skyhawks were the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament champions and made their first appearance at the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship. Point finished the season with an 11-6-2 record and went undefeated in the AAC tournament. Point had its first-ever NAIA Player of the Week (Jeronimo Leguizamon) and Julio Gomes was named the first-ever NAIA Defensive Player of the Week. Leguizamon was named AAC Player of the Year and was also named to the All-AAC first team, Golden Boot recipient and earned All-American honors.

Wozniak brings more than 25 years of soccer-playing experience and more than eight seasons of coaching experience to Point University.  He worked with Point’s men’s soccer program as a part-time assistant in January 2018 and became the full-time assistant coach in July 2018.  He was elevated to the head coaching position following the departure of Jonathan Lenarz in June 2019.  Lenarz and Wozniak guided Point men’s soccer to records of 16-2-1 overall and 9-1 in conference and led the Skyhawks to their first-ever Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season championship and a number one seed in the AAC Tournament.  Point set school records for most overall victories and most conference wins in 2018.

Wozniak has played at the NAIA, NCAA and semi-pro levels.  He helped pioneer a soccer program for his high school and led the team as its captain.  He earned a scholarship to Lee University (Tenn.) and to Colorado Christian University, a pair of NCAA Division II programs, and was CCU’s captain during his senior year.

Shortly after getting married in 2008, Mark and his wife, Sharee, lived in Vienna, Austria, while Mark played professional soccer.  After completing his playing career in Austria in 2011, Mark began his coaching career, spending six seasons (2011-17) at Southern Soccer Academy (Ga.) and then served as an assistant men’s soccer coach in 2017, for Sheridan College in Wyoming, leading the Generals to their best season in program history.  Wozniak currently holds a USSF “National D” license. He also is the Head Coach for Legends FC which a USPL Premier team based in Lagrange, Ga.

Mark and Sharee Wozniak live in Newnan, Ga., and have four daughters, Chloe, Sophie, Emily and Kinsley born in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2021 respectively, and one son, Ryan Levi, who was born in 2019.
