Men’s Lacrosse dropped by #1 Reinhardt in road AAC Play

WALESKA, Ga. (Apr. 13, 2024) - The Point University Men's Lacrosse team returned to action for a Saturday afternoon Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against #1 Reinhardt University where the Skyhawks fell to the Eagles with a final score of 25-7. 

The Eagles opened the first quarter with the first two scores to lead 2-0 with early momentum. Jeff Knapp followed with two scores to put the Skyhawks on the scoreboard. Reinhardt continued their offensive attack by adding five more goals to end the first period with a 7-2 lead. The Eagles did not slow down as Reinhardt added two more scores in the first four minutes in the second quarter. Shaun McLaughlin connected with Jamison Cross for Point's third goal of the matchup. As the Eagles followed with six more goals, Jeff Knapp ended the half with Point's fourth score to trail 14-2 at the half. Jamison Cross and Jeff Knapp scored the final three goals for Point in the second half as the Skyhawks saw Reinhardt tack on 11 goals to end the game with a final score of 25-7.

Jeff Knapp led with four goals,11 groundballs, and 17 faceoff wins. Jamison Cross added three goals and two groundballs. In goal, Teagan Simons added 24 saves in the matchup.
