Early goals doom Skyhawks in final game of season

LAURINBURG, N.C. (April 2, 2021) – The Point University men's lacrosse team traveled to face St. Andrews University Friday afternoon and fell to the Knights 16-7 in the Skyhawks' final game of the season.

St. Andrews took an early 5-0 lead in the first quarter before Conan Hochburger opened the second quarter for the Skyhawks with a goal. The Knights would add two more goals to their lead, entering the second half ahead 7-1.

In the third quarter, Tyrique Robinson started the second half off with a goal, and John Allen followed, finding the back of the net with 1:50 left in the quarter. The Skyhawks entered the final quarter trailing 11-3.

To begin the fourth quarter, Allen and Jassiem Josse each scored a goal and Hochburger and Kiereek McLeod both connected for a goal, but it was not enough, as the Knights scored five more goals to extend its lead out to eight.

Allen and Hochburger each scored two goals for Point and Hochburger had 11 of Point's 33 shots, with four shots being on frame.

With the conclusion of Friday's game, the Skyhawks finish their season 0-7.
