Men’s Golf resilience on the course gives them a T11 Finish at Nationals

MESA, Az. (May 19, 2023) - The Point University Men's Golf competed at the NAIA National Championships and showed why they could hang with the best on the course. The Skyhawks tied for 11th place after four rounds and made up a lot of ground in the later rounds. 

Tournament Notes 

  • The Tournament was held at the Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. 

  • The course was par 72 and 7,004 yards. 

  • After round two, the tournament featured 29 teams and was cut down to 17 teams and 40 individuals. 

  • Men's Golf jumped from being tied at 18th in Round two to finishing tied at 11th after the final round. 

  • Point finished with a tournament score of 1186 and shot rounds of 309, 297, 292, 288 

  • Keiser University led the way through the first two rounds, but British Columbia fought their way to first to claim their second NAIA National Championship.

This now concludes the 2022-23 Season for Men's Golf, and the Skyhawks will get ready to push for a big year in the 2023-24 Season as Point enters a new Southern States Athletic Conference conference.
