Stevens named AAC golfer of the week

WEST POINT, Ga. (March 21, 2022) — For the first time this season, Cole Stevens of the No. 6/8 Point University men's golf team has been recognized as the Appalachian Athletic Conference golfer of the week. The AAC made the announcement Monday for the week ending March 20.

This is Stevens' fourth AAC golfer of the week recognition of his career.

Stevens led the men's golf team to a first-place finish at the Maryville College Invitational in Lenoir City, Tenn., at the Wind River Golf Club.

Stevens earned medalist honors, winning the tournament with a two-round score of 136. The sophomore tied the school record for lowest 18-holes score and set a course record as he shot a 64 in the second round with an eagle, six birdies and 11 pars. 

According to Golfstat, Stevens is the No. 11 golfer in the NAIA. 

 

Stevens and the rest of the men's golf team will compete in the Oldfield Classic in Okatie, S.C., March 28-29.
