Skyhawks sweep AAC golfer of the week awards

WEST POINT, Ga. (Sept. 13, 2021) – Trevor Poole of the No. 3 Point University men's golf team and Fredricka Zetterblom of the Point University women's golf team swept this week's Appalachian Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honors due to their efforts this past weekend. The league made the announcement on Monday for the week ending Sept. 12.

Poole and Zetterblom both finished in first place individually in the Skyhawks home invitational, which was held Sept. 11-12, at the Point University Golf Course, in Lanett, Alabama.

Poole's finish helped the Skyhawks secure a first-place finish in the tournament, as Point defeated Truett McConnell by two strokes. He posted a two-round score of 135 (7-under par). This is Poole's first-ever AAC weekly recognition.

Zetterblom helped Point to a second-place finish in her collegiate debut. The freshman posted a two-round score of 149 (5-over par). This is the first AAC weekly honor of Zetterblom's career.

Up next, the Skyhawks will travel to Palm Harbor, Florida, to compete in the Invite at Innisbrook, Sept. 27-28.
