BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 20, 2021) — Point University men's basketball senior Corey Bowen recorded his 1,000th career point as the Skyhawks fell 78-69 to Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Union College Saturday afternoon.

With the loss the Skyhawks fall to 6-3 (3-1 AAC).

Bowen opened Point's scoring up with back-to-back dunks and Jake Smith followed with a three-pointer and a layup to go ahead 9-2. Point held it's lead for majority of the first half until a made jump shot from Union's, Markelle Turner put the Bulldogs ahead 19-18 with less than eight minutes remaining. Taylor answered with a tip-in to put the Skyhawks ahead 29-28 and Point would enter the half, leading 35-32.

The back-and-forth pace of play would continue into the second half with neither team able to extend its lead out by more than three. Bowen started the half off with a dunk to give Point a five point lead, but a dunk from Union's Andre Silva would bring the score back within three. With 15 minutes left in the half, the Bulldogs would connect for a triple to put them ahead by four, and Union would hold onto its lead for the remainder of the game.
