MARIETTA, Ga. (Feb. 22, 2024) - The Point University Women's Flag Football officially opened their season with their first official game in program history with a road matchup in Sun Conference Play against Life University where the Skyhawks fell to the Running Eagles with a final score of 12-0.

The first quarter opened with Point taking the field on defense first. Point took the field on offense with the first completion being from Maddy Motz to Leah Prather. The Skyhawks followed with getting Jordan Palmer involved on a pass. Life would be able to force consecutive incompletions to force Point on a punt to regain possession. As the clock continued to run, Life moved the ball on the offensive end but would go scoreless in the first period.

The second quarter opened with Life gaining the lead on the first touchdown of the game. The Running Eagles looked to convert for the extra point but the speed of Alejah Nathan was put on display as she made the stop for the Running Eagles to lead 6-0. The Skyhawks regained possession on offense with the first play being a quick pass to Kyra Hart for a positive gain. Darcee Wright entered the fray with her first collegiate reception over two defenders but a penalty called the play back. Life used their speed on the edge to creep their way into the endzone to bring their lead to 12-0. With three minutes left in the half, Point looked to move the ball quickly which showed as Maddy Motz completed a big gain to Darcee Wright for the first down. As Point entered the scoring territory, Life forced their first turnover on the goal line with the interception to hold the Skyhawks scoreless going into the half.

The third quarter opened with Point gaining possession first and Caitlin Raynor came in hot with a completion to Leah Prather at midfield. Life would be able to hold its own and force multiple incompletions to halt the momentum to regain possession. The defense of Point stepped in at the right moment to have their first goal line stand of the season as Jordan Palmer came downhill on the pursuit to give Point the ball back. As the Skyhawks looked to get going, a crucial pass to Kyra Hart earned Point a first down to end the quarter.
