Multiple Skyhawks earn AAC Football player of the week honors

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 3, 2022) - Two Skyhawk players from the Point University football team earned AAC Football player of the week honors. Aaron Anderson was named the AAC defensive player of the week, and Giovanni Martinez was named Special Teams Player of the week. 

Anderson recorded four tackles and a forced fumble that he recovered for a 16-yard touchdown in a 48-6 win against St. Andrews University. Anderson also had two tackles for loss for 14 yards. This is the first weekly honor for the senior out of Gwinnett, GA. 

Martinez went 6-for-6 on PATS and kicked off seven times for 397 yards for a 56.7 average with one touchback. This is the first weekly honor for the freshman out of Gainesville, GA. 

The football team will open AAC play on the road against Bluefield College on Saturday, Oct. 8.
