Anderson named MSC Appalachian Division Defensive Player of the Week

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 1, 2021) – Junior linebacker Aaron Anderson led the Point University football team to a 27-20 victory on Saturday, and his efforts earned him Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division Defensive Player of the Week recognition. The league office made the announcement Monday.

This is Anderson's first recognition this season and second MSC weekly honor of his career.

Anderson registered 12 tackles, five solo, in Saturday's victory. He had one tackle for loss yards and one quarterback hurry. Four of his tackles came in the first quarter, while five came in the final period. Two of his tackles and the quarterback hurry came in Union's final drive to help secure the Skyhawk victory.

Anderson currently leads the team with 61 tackles on the year.

Anderson and the Skyhawks will return home to face Bluefield University on Saturday, Nov. 6. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
