Neal named MSC Appalachian Division Defensive Player of the Week

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 4, 2021) – Junior defensive back Quan Neal helped lead the Point University football team to their first win of the season on Saturday, and for his efforts, Neal was recognized as the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Division Defensive Player of the Week. The league made the announcement Monday afternoon.

This is Neal's first weekly honor of the season and the second MSC weekly honor of his career, as he was honored back in November of 2019.

 In Saturday's victory over St. Andrews, Neal registered nine tackles and one tackle for loss yards. Five of his tackles were recorded in the second half. Also, in defensive efforts, he forced a fumble and his fumble recovery set up Point's first touchdown.

In four games this season, Neal has recorded 25 tackles and averages 6.3 per game.

Neal and the Skyhawks will be back in action this Saturday, Oct. 9, at Faulkner University. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
