WEST POINT, Ga. (Mar. 24, 2024) - The Point University Baseball team returned to action for a home weekend series against Thomas University where the Skyhawks won the series 2-1. Point took the first two games on Day one of the weekend series with final scores of 5-2 and 4-1. Sunday's game saw the Nighthawks win with a final score of 10-5.

Game One (5-2, Win)

Julio Lopez started the game by making quick work on the mound against the Nighthawks' batter and not allowing a hit through the first two innings. In the bottom of the second inning, Trent Sheppard opened with a double to left field which helped Zeb Baird advance to third. With an error from first base, Daniel Gonzelez reached to first which scored Zeb Baird home for the first run of the game. The Nighthawks added their first run of the game with a single down the third base line to score a runner home. Point went into the fifth inning with Alex Marquand smacking a single to left field to help Silas Butler advance home for a 5-1 lead. The Nighthawks looked to make a late rally with their second run of the game with a runner advancing home but Point held on to win with a final score of 5-2.
