Point Baseball falls to Bryan College in Midweek Matchup
EMERSON, Ga. (Mar. 19, 2024) - The Point University Baseball team returned to action for a nonconference Tuesday game against former Appalachian Athletic Conference foe, Bryan College where the Skyhawks fell to the Lions with a final score of 16-2.
The Lions opened the bottom of the first inning with a six-run lead to get their scoring going with runners advancing home with multiple hits and a home run. The Skyhawks followed with Silas Butler adding a home run in the top of the second inning to give the Skyhawks their first run. The Lions continued to keep the bats rolling as the top of the third inning opened with a single which was followed by two home runs to extend their lead to 10-1. Slade Mink opened the top of the fourth inning with a double to get on base and Zeb Baird followed with a single. Trent Sheppard added Point's second run of the game with a sacrifice fly to left field which advanced Slade Mink home. Bryan College finished the game by adding six more runs to take the game with a final score of 16-2.
