Cam Seiwert’s record-breaking performance earns his second SSAC Pitcher of the Week award

WEST POINT, Ga. (Mar. 4, 2024) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced weekly awards for Baseball on Monday, March 4th, and Cameron Seiwert earned his second SSAC Pitcher of the Week award on the season.  

The Senior from Jacksonville, Florida has continued to make his impact on the mound as he broke the program record for 16 strikeouts in eight innings during the Game Two win at the University of Tennessee Southern. The previous record was held by Dylan Griffin who held the record with 13 strikeouts. His 16 strikeouts were also the second most in SSAC history with the first-place number being 17. Seiwert has the attitude of never being satisfied as he felt his first pitcher of the week award was just the beginning. Cam Seiwert has already surpassed his number of strikeouts as he had 39 in the 2022-23 season and is already sitting at 43 for this season. Head Coach John Tyler and Pitching Coach Adam Castillo know the best of Seiwert is still yet to come and look forward to seeing more of his growth. With a lot of baseball still left to be played, Seiwert looks to continue his consistent effort by doing what Cam Seiwert does best. This is the second weekly honor for Seiwert this season.
