Baseball drops midweek game to the Knights on the road

COCHRAN, Ga. (Apr. 18, 2023)- The Point University Baseball team returned to action as the Skyhawks traveled for a non-conference game against the Middle Georgia State University. The Skyhawks fell to the Knights with a final score of 13-2. 

Trent Sheppard got the Skyhawks going with a double to left field, scoring Jaysen Dower to put Point ahead by one. Middle Georgia flipped the script as the Knights brought the score to a tie after the error from the centerfielder. The momentum continued to stay on the side of the Knights by adding four runs in the second inning. The runs from Middle Georgia started to add up in the fourth inning when Middle Georgia hit the home run bomb. The Knights added seven more runs to bring their lead to 12. The Skyhawks added the game's last run when Sam Baker hit the infield single to score Easton Harrison. Middle Georgia took the game over the Skyhawks in seven innings.
