Brown nabs AAC pitcher of the week

WEST POINT, Ga. (Feb. 28, 2022) – For the first time in his career, junior Cole Brown has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference pitcher of the week. The league made the announcement Monday for the week ending Feb. 27.

Brown picked up his third win of the season in Friday's AAC series opener against No. 21 Reinhardt. He went 7.0 innings, giving up three hits, no runs, walking three and striking out eight. The Skyhawks went game one 4-0.

So far this season, Brown has thrown 24.1 innings, striking out 31 and has a 2.59 ERA.

The Skyhawks will be back in action Wednesday as they travel to Columbus State for a midweek nonconference matchup at 4 p.m. Following Wednesday's game, Point will hit the road for their first AAC road series of the season at Bluefield University March 4-5.
