Point Athletics Welcomes Austin Esch as the Athletic Coordinator

WEST POINT, Ga. (May 9, 2022)- The Point University Athletic Department welcomed a new face to campus as the Skyhawk Community adds Austin Esch as the new Athletic Coordinator at Point University. Esch joined the staff on May 1, 2023, and he will oversee the NAIA Eligibility compliance for all 19 Skyhawk programs and aid in gameday operations. Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Jaunelle White, is ecstatic about Esch's contributions to the growing department of Point Athletics.“I am excited about Austin joining the Skyhawk family,” White mentioned. His love for God, experience, and expertise are a welcomed edition to our department.” 

Before joining the Skyhawks, Esch served as the Student Services Coordinator at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) – Auburn Campus. He assisted with managing student organizations and planning medical milestone celebrations and ceremonies.  

Before attending VCOM, Esch spent time at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) within the Athletic Department. Esch was initially brought on as the Athletic Administration Intern and would late be hired as the Gameday Operations Assistant. Esch would be named to the 2021 NCAA Emerging Leader cohort during his time at AUM. 

Esch is pursuing a graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in Kinesiology, focusing on Sport Management. During this time, Esch was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society for the College of Education. 

During his undergrad at Troy University, Esch has participated in several honor societies, including Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, and Mortar Board, Inc. He also served as the Executive Board Treasurer for the Sport Management Club. He has completed two certifications outside his studies, including Fundamentals of Global Sports Management from NYU and Post-Crisis Hospitality Management from the University of South Florida.  

Esch and his wife (Sarah Grace) have two pets: a cat (Penny) and a puppy (Bernadette).
