SSAC Game of the Week concludes in a draw

COCHRAN, Ga. (Oct. 7, 2023) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch for a Southern Athletic Conference matchup against Middle Georgia State University, where the match concluded in a tie.

Both opponents looked to get their offense going by taking their shots early in the first half. Point's defense would not allow the Knights to get the upper hand, resulting in Middle Georgia going scoreless throughout the half. Point had opportunities to look to take the momentum to the half, but the Skyhawks were able to go into the break with a scored goal.

The second half saw both teams continuing to find their rhythm and take the lead, which was why the game was seen as the Women's Soccer game of the week. Kelly Rowland continued to prevent the Knights from scoring by adding crucial saves. The Skyhawks had some beautiful opportunities to go for late goals in the half, but the Knights stayed within the matchup. As the clock struck its final second, both conference opponents were still at zero, which resulted in the game ending as a draw.
