Women’s soccer comes up short at Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. (Sept. 29, 2021) – Senior Kelly Carlisle scored her fourth goal of the season, but the Point University women's soccer team fell in a 4-1 decision at Reinhardt University Wednesday afternoon on the road.

The match dropped Point to 2-5-1 (2-2-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference) while Reinhardt improved to 5-2 (5-0 AAC).

The Eagles took an early 1-0 advantage, with Ryelyn Wells connecting for a goal in the fifth minute. Carlisle's goal came nine minutes later to even the score 1-1; however, Reinhardt retook the lead at 29:00 with a goal from Lauren Akemon and padded the lead with two more goals in the second half the first from Wells and the second from Akemon.

Reinhardt outshot Point 17-5, including 7-4 on shots on goal. Reinhardt had 11 corner kicks, while the Skyhawks had none.
