Women’s soccer shut out in home opener

WEST POINT, Ga. (Aug. 26, 2021) – The Point University women's soccer team opened its 2021 season Thursday afternoon, hosting Faulkner University inside River Bowl Stadium, and fell to the Eagles 4-0.  

With less than ten minutes left in the first half, Faulkner was able to find the back of the net, scoring their first goal of the game and lead 1-0 at the break. The Eagles outshot Point 7-4 in the first half.

Faulkner was able to score three goals in the 51st, 52nd and 62nd minutes of the game. Four different Eagles scored all four goals.

The Skyhawks took a total of six shots, with Kelly Carlisle and Carmen Kager taking two shots apiece.

Up next, Point travels to play Middle Georgia State on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Kick off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
