Men’s Soccer falls to #13 William Carey

WEST POINT, Ga (Oct. 16th, 2024) - Point University fought hard in their last home game of the season against William Carey. The Skyhawks defended their team strongly but fell to the Crusaders with a final score of 1-0. 

Point starts the first half with stellar defense, while the Crusaders aim to make several shots but fail to penetrate the Skyhawks' defense. Of the Skyhawks, Tommy Eskew makes the first attempted shot but comes up short. William Carey continues to make shots, but goalie Simon Niksch persists with multiple saves. Although Skyhawk's defense remained strong, the Crusaders scored a penalty kick goal, which ended the first half.  

William Carey makes two back-to-back shots in the second half, but Simon Niksch does not fail to get his hands on the ball. Point starts to add pressure, and Tommy Eskew makes another shot on goal, but the Crusader's goalie does not allow Point to score. The Skyhawks continue fighting, but the game ends with a final score of 1-0.

William Carey had 19 total shots and 7 on goal, while Point University took three total shots and one on goal. Point goalie Simon Niksch had six total saves.
