
Men’s Soccer halted by Blue Mountain on the road
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. (Oct. 5, 2024) - The Point University Men's Soccer returned to the pitch for an evening Southern States Athletic Conference match against Blue Mountain Christian University where the Skyhawks fell to the Toppers with a final score of 3-1.
The Toppers jumped on the scoreboard with an early goal to put the Skyhawks on their heels. As Point looked to regain composure, Blue Mountain extended their lead with two consecutive goals to lead 3-0. The Skyhawks were held to just three shots in the first half and did not add a score going into the break. Point's offense was more aggressive in the second with a total of 16 shots. Ethan Eldridge connected with Tom Liebherr for the score to bring the score to 3-1. The Skyhawks were unable to creep closer to Blue Mountain's lead to fall to the Toppers in SSAC Play on the road.

The Skyhawks outshot the Toppers with 19 total shots with eight on goal compared to Blue Mountain's 13 shots with eight on the frame. Tom Liebherr scored the lone goal for the Skyhawks and in goal, Simon Niksch added five saves.
