Men’s Soccer fall short of victory against Union

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 24, 2022) - The Point University men's soccer team took a trip to Kentucky for an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against Union College and fell 2-0.

The Skyhawks came into the match with the mindset to attack the net with force, as Max Paul Busnel took a header shot in the first 3 three minutes. Union returned the favor by taking their shots but were unsuccessful as Point kept their intensity on defense going from their last bout. As the first half neared its end, both teams would remain scoreless until the Bulldogs found success on their end by scoring a goal in the last minute to take the lead 1-0 going into halftime.

Coming into the second half, Point continued their attack on the net to try to bring the game into their favor with a tie. The Bulldogs countered that with defensive stops and creating another successful shot on goal to give Union a 2-0 lead in the match. The Skyhawks looked to find answers on the offensive end but would not be able to connect as they were held to zero to end the game.
