Antwon Ferrell’s stellar Point debut earns him SSAC Offensive Player of the Week
WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 28, 2024) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the Conference Player of the Week awards for the week ending on October 27th. Antwon Ferrell's performance versus Talladega was enough to earn the honor of SSAC Offensive Player of the Week.
The Junior from Newnan, Georgia, debuted with the Skyhawks as the Men's Basketball team opened their season at the West Point Park Gymnasium against Talladega College. Ferrell led with 27 Points, four rebounds, and four assists. Antwon Ferrell made a few clutch shots in crunch time and was very close to a game-winner that rimmed out at the last second. Ferrell had his number called in the fluent system of coaches Gabe Johnson and Dakota Murphy, who displayed his three-point shot, mid-range jumpers, and will to get to the basket. Ferrell transferred from Terra State Community College to be part of the new direction for Point Men's Basketball, which started in a positive way. Ferrell looks to continue to grow in his career at Point University and help turn the page for the program with a lot of Basketball to be played. This is his first weekly honor of the season.
