
Tianna Kynard’s Block Party Weekend earns her SSAC Defender of the Week
WEST POINT, Ga. (Sept. 9, 2024) - The Southern States Athletic Conference announced Player of the Week honors for the week ending on September 8. Tianna Kynard's record-setting weekend was noticed by the conference as she earned her first collegiate weekly honor as Defender of the Week.
The Sophomore from Phenix City, Alabama was on a different level as she added her name to the record books with a nine-block performance in the SSAC Opener against Faulkner University. Kynard's performance tied her #2 all-time in Program History for the second most blocks in a match (9). Kynard continued her dominance with a six-block performance against (RV) University of Mobile. Tee Kynard's two years at Point University have proven to be worthwhile as she has entered the all-time blocks list at #7 with a total of 89 Blocks. Kynard looks to continue to show that she can be an impactful member of Point University Volleyball. Tianna Kynard is all smiles off the court and is beloved by her teammates but on the court, she is one of the most athletic and toughest competitors in the Southern States Athletic Conference. With a lot of season left in store, Kynard looks to continue to be consistent on the court. This is Tianna Kynard's first weekly honor of the season and the first weekly honor of her college career.
