Friday, September 6 at Faulkner University (3-2, Win)
The Point University Skyhawks faced early adversity by being down two sets to the Lady Eagles in their SSAC Opener in Montgomery. Point opened set three with an intention to battle displayed with Claire Cordell adding service ace to build the momentum. Point began to capitalize with kills from Ava Clay and Kayla Johnson, followed by errors from Faulkner to go on an 8-2 run. Faulkner looked to climb back in the set but the Skyhawks' firepower proved too much. A block from Kayla Johnson and Tianna Kynard, multiple kills, and a service ace from Claire Cordell helped Point take Set three. Point carried the momentum into Set Four by halting the Lady Eagles with only 12 Points. Set five opened with Faulkner leading 7-3 before Point called a timeout. The Skyhawks returned to the court with 9-0 run to take the lead with a score of 11-8. As Faulkner looked to keep it close, the Skyhawks responded with kills from Claire Cordell and Tianna Kynard and a service ace from Lexi Arter to finish the match in a reverse sweep for their first SSAC win of the year.

Both opponents opened Set One with Back to Back scoring through the first 10 points. Mobile responded with capitalizing off two errors from the Skyhawks and a kill. Jasmyn Ceasar and Kayla Johnson kept the set close with two consecutive kills but a 7-2 run was enough to wipe away the momentum from the Skyhawks and take the first set. The Rams carried their momentum with a 13-1 start in the second set. Point would be allowed to just eight points in the second set. Point returned to the court for set three trading the first eight scores. A kill from Ava Clay and an attack error from the Rams pushed the Skyhawks in the lead with a score of 10-9 but two errors from the Skyhawks pushed Mobile back ahead. Jasmyn Ceasar and Angel Johnson looked to bring the momentum back to Point, but a 6-1 run from Mobile ended the match in a sweep.
