WEST POINT, Ga. The Skyhawks dominantly picked up the win, defeating Columbia in three sets, 25-12, 25-19, 26-24.

With Saturday's win, Point advances to 6-8 (3-3), and Columbia falls to 1-9 (0-7).

The Skyhawks opened on a 4-1 run and continued to build on their lead, closing the first set on a 10-1 run. Columbia brought the score back within two, as they scored the following four points and would go on to take the lead 8-7. Te'a Owens would tie the score 8-8 with a kill, and Point would use that momentum to retake the lead, extending it out by three. Trailing 20-15, Columbia threatened Point's lead with a 4-1 run, but Point closed the second set with a 4-0 run.

The Koalas made a resilient effort to avoid the sweep, as the third set was decided past regulation end. The Skyhawks led 23-20, but Columbia would go on a 4-0 run to go ahead 24-23. Owens would tie the score at 24 with a kill, and back-to-back attack errors from Columbia would help secure the match victory for Point.
