Women’s Tennis takes the win at home over Central Alabama

VALLEY, Ala. (Feb. 8, 2024) - The Point University Women's Tennis team opened with their first home match against Central Alabama Community College where the Skyhawks took the win 5-0.  

Point's momentum opened with earning a win in both doubles matches. Maria Camila Langegas and Lauren Perez took the 6-0 win in the No. 1 Doubles; At No. 2 Doubles, Ana Olano and Jenny Zaipen showed their teamwork in the 6-0 win. As the Skyhawks moved to Singles, Maria Camila Vangegas Roa earned the win at 6-0 and 6-4. Lauren Perez added some steam on the court for the No. 2 singles as she earned the win with 6-0 both times. Jenny Zaipen entered the fray with the mindset to have the same energy as her teammates which was put on display with both of her set scores being 6-0 at No. 3. Ana Olano would fit the last piece of the puzzle with her effort on the court as she took the win at No. 4 6-1 and 6-3. The Skyhawks overall came prepared to put on a show in front of their spectators at the Valley Sportsplex which paid dividends.
