Bio

The Point University Women's Soccer Team has officially announced the appointment of Women's Soccer Coach, Rocio Carrizales. Carrizales will join the staff with Head Coach Randy Douglas and Graduate Assistant Erica Burkhardt. Carrizales also joins the staff with seven years' worth of coaching experience and recently left teaching to pursue coaching full-time. 

Rocio Carrizales is no stranger to the Southern States Athletic Conference and NAIA as she is a Class of 2019 graduate from Dalton State College and a Women's Soccer Team member. Her playing experience continued as she played for the American Professional Soccer Team, Chattanooga Football Club in 2022. Before Point, Carrizales taught Science and coached Part-time. Coach Carrizales also has training experience having trained players on all levels. For coaching, Carrizales became the Head Coach for the Women's Soccer Team at Hammond Creek Middle School in 2017. She also has coached for NSA Belles Academy in North Georgia, and Shankley Elite Academy, and partnered with North Georgia United to become the Head Coach of their first-ever Semi-Professional Women's Team. Carrizales will continue her coaching experience with Head Coach Randy Douglas who enters his 24th season at the helm. The experience and knowledge of Coach Carrizales is exactly what Head Coach Randy Douglas was ecstatic about when he made the hire. "The most important addition to the 2024 season is the hiring of Rocio Carrizales." Douglas also mentioned how she can elevate a player's ability on the pitch. "She is a student of the game and enjoys elevating players' abilities. I know the current players and the new members of the team will respond positively to her coaching style and I look forward to working with her and getting our program back to relevance."
