Women’s Soccer adds a Senior Day Shutout over ABAC

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 12, 2024) -The Point Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch for an afternoon Southern States Athletic Conference against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, where the Skyhawks shut out the Fillies with a final score of 6-0. 

The First half opened with the Skyhawks entering the scoring column as Morgan Pent connected with Isabella Frullaney for the first goal. ABAC secured multiple saves after giving up the goal to trail 1-0 at the half. Point entered the second half with a plan to attack, which was displayed with Senior Alyssa Bennett scoring the match's second goal. Isabella Frullaney would find her spot for her second goal of the evening from a throw-in from Cassidy Harrell to increase the lead by three. Lorelei Lewis' corner kick proved to be enough to find Brooke Wiseley for the Header goal and continue Point's momentum on the offensive end. Brooke Wiseley was in a giving mood as the Skyhawks continued to attack as she assisted Naomi Tilley for another score. To finish Senior Day, Morgan Pent would sprint past the defense for the game's final score to end the match with a final score of 6-0. 

In the Box 

Point outshot ABAC with 41 total shots and 23 on goal compared to the Fillies' six shots and two on goal. Isabella Frullaney (Two), Alyssa Bennett, Brooke Wiseley, Naomi Tilley, and Morgan Pent each scored a goal for the Skyhawks. In goal, Jaynee Malcolm made the start and would add her second shutout of the season with two saves.
