Point Women’s Soccer falls to #5 UT Southern in road SSAC Play
PULASKI, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2024) - The Point Women's Soccer Team returned to the pitch for a Southern States Athletic Conference match against #5 University of Tennessee Southern where the Skyhawks fell to the Firehawks with a final score of 13-0.
The Firehawks jumped ahead with a 3-0 lead to have Point trailing. The Skyhawks looked to match the early momentum but could not connect on goal. UT Southern continued their offensive attack by adding four more goals to lead 7-0 at the half. The second half resulted in the Skyhawks being held scoreless as the Firehawks tacked on six more goals to win the match with a final score of 13-0.
In the Box
The Firehawks outshot the Skyhawks with 35 shots and 20 on goal. Lisa Kelm and Jaynee Malcolm each made an appearance in goal. Kelm finished with four saves and Malcolm finished with two.
