Women’s Soccer shutout by Dalton State in road SSAC Play
DALTON, Ga. (Sept. 27, 2024) - The Point University Women's Soccer returned to action in a Friday evening Southern States Athletic Conference match against Dalton State College where the Roadrunners overcame the Skyhawks in the SSAC Game of the Week.
The first half opened with both teams looking to gain momentum as the Roadrunners took 11 shots in the first half. Isabella Frullaney took the only shot in the first half for the Skyhawks. Both conference opponents held each other scoreless through the first half. The Roadrunners took the lead with a goal as the second half opened. Bailey Turner looked to add some offense for the Point but a Dalton State defender jumped in on time to make a save on the shot. As the Skyhawks looked to continue to find answers, the Roadrunners extended their lead with their second goal of the evening. Point would be held to one shot in the second half and fall to Dalton State with a final score of 2-0.

Dalton State outshot the Skyhawks with 20 total shots and 11 on goal compared to Point's two shots and one on goal. In goal, Lisa Kelm finished with nine saves on the evening.
