Last Minute Efforts Surges Point Women's Soccer to a Tie

West Point, Ga. (Sept. 7, 2024) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the field where they faced Warner University and ended in an intense standoff.

Warner jumped into action right away, making four attempted shots within six minutes of each other, leading to their first goal in the fifth shot. The Skyhawks struggled to make attempted shots in the first half but quickly came to fight for a goal.

In the second half, the Royals continued pushing towards the goal and came up successful with their second score on the board. Warner continuously made back-to-back shots, however, Point's goalie, Lisa Kelm, held up an amazing defense. The Skyhawks stepped up and fired into motion as Carolina Marin scored the first goal with five minutes left on the board. In less than a minute, Brooke Wisely, hungry for another goal, gained the second point with the assist of Cassidy Harrell. With only four minutes left on the clock, the game resulted in a nail-biting stalemate of 2-2.
