Fiery Second Half surges Talladega past Point Women's Soccer

WEST POINT, Ga (Aug. 22, 2024) - The Point University Women's soccer team opened their 2024 regular season at the River Bowl Stadium against the Talladega College Tornadoes for a non-conference matchup where the Skyhawks fell 3-1.

Point took an early lead in the first half with Carolina Marin scoring her first collegiate goal from an assist by Ari Wincek. Talladega tied the match at 35:03 of the first half ending the half at 1-1.

The second half picks up eight minutes in with Talladega scoring taking the lead 2-1. After 13 minutes the Tornadoes put the ball in the back of the net extending the lead. The Skyhawks and Tornadoes traded possession until the end of the match. Talladega comes out on top 3-1.

The Skyhawks totaled eight shots with six on goal. The Tornadoes totaled 15 shots and nine on goal.

The Skyhawks take the field again this Saturday for their alumni game at 6:30 P.M. at the River Bowl Stadium.
