Women’s Soccer routed by #1 William Carey at home

WEST POINT, Ga. (Sept. 17, 2023) - The Point University Women's Soccer team returned to the pitch at the River Bowl Stadium for an afternoon Southern States Athletic Conference matchup against the #1 ranked William Carey University where the Skyhawks fell 16-0. 

The SSAC matchup saw the Crusaders take control of the game as William Carey scored nine goals in the first half and got their offense going, keeping their momentum going into the second half. The Skyhawks could not get their offense going as the defense of William Carey proved to be in unison by slowing any momentum Point tried to put together. The second half saw the Crusaders put together seven more scores to win the match 16-0 in SSAC Play over Point.  

In the box 

Khlari South nabbed a season-high 15 saves as the starting Goalkeeper for Point. Kelly Rowland appeared in the second half as the goalie and added four saves on the evening.

The Skyhawks will focus on Faulkner University as Point takes on the Eagles on Saturday, September 23rd, at the River Bowl Stadium starting at 3:00 P.M.
