Skyhawks outlasted by Milligan in Penalty Kick Shootout

WEST POINT, Ga. (Nov. 1, 2022) - The Point University women's soccer team played host to Milligan University on Tuesday afternoon to square off against in a play-in conference playoff matchup and fell in penalty kicks. Officially this game will be counted as a draw for both clubs. Milligan moves to 4-7-3 on the year and will advance in the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament. Point moves to 5-6-3 to end the season. 

Both teams looked to get a goal across throughout the entire contest but were unsuccessful.  

 

In the box  

Point outshot Milligan University 15-5 with 9 shots on goal compared to the Buffs' two. Neither team scored during the regulation time or in either of the extra periods. Leading the Skyhawks was Kelly Carlisle with five shots and four on-goal shots. Other Skyhawks to have shots on goal during regulation and the extra periods were Lorelei Lewis, Keiry Bonilla, Alyssa Bennett, Tamia Jones, and Nolwenn Blain. Goalie Erica Burkhardt had two shots on goal and two saves during the regulation and both extra periods.
