Women’s soccer tie with Montreat on the road

MONTREAT, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2022) - The Point University women's soccer returned to the pitch Saturday evening to face Montreat College in an AAC showdown, and both teams tied 1-1.

The Skyhawks started the match by attacking the net by taking two shots on goal in the first minute of the game but would not be able to convert. Their quick attacks on offense saw success as Kelly Carlisle scored a goal for Point to take the lead 1-0. Montreat looked to respond by taking their attempts at goal, but the Skyhawks' defense did not budge as they held the Cavaliers scoreless in the first half of play.

Business picked up in the second half as Montreat continued to try to find a gap in Point's defense by taking four shots on goal in the first 20 minutes. The Cavaliers kept their focus on attacking and duplicated the same kind of result of success after attacks as the Skyhawks did in the first half. To elaborate, Montreat scored a goal to tie the game at 1-1. Point looked to respond by stealing the glory from the Cavaliers with another scored goal but would not be able to move past Montreat's tough defense, which ended the match in a tie.
