Women’s soccer goes all out for the win versus Johnson

WEST POINT, Ga. (Oct. 8, 2022) - The Point University women's soccer team returned to the pitch Saturday afternoon for their final home game of the regular season in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against Johnson University and came out victorious 2-1.

The Skyhawks came into the match jumping on the board in the first five minutes, with a goal scored from Alyssa Bennett. Point continued to take their shots on goal but would not be successful. Johnson responded with a scored goal of their own to tie the score at one. As both teams neared the half, the Skyhawks continued their attacks on the net to take the lead but would remain tied at halftime.

In the second half, Point had a plan to take control of the game with offensive execution by attempts which set up a score for Keiry Bonilla to push the Skyhawks back in the lead by one. The Royals attempted to fire back by pushing the game to a tie, but the defense from Point proved to be too much, which resulted in the Skyhawks tallying their fourth win in AAC play and on the season.
