Tight road matchup results in a tie against Brenau

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 5, 2022) - The Point University women's soccer team returned to the pitch in a road matchup Wednesday night against Brenau University for an AAC matchup, and the game ended in a tie.

Both respective teams came into the matchup, taking multiple opportunities at goal but would be unable to convert. The Skyhawks continued to take their chances on the offensive side with multiple shots, but the Golden Tigers showed their discipline on defense as both teams went into the half scoreless.

Starting the second half, Point looked like they were going to break the ice as Jenna Loewen took a header shot on goal, but the ball would be too high. The Skyhawks followed with two shots from Keiry Bonilla and Keeley McGuffin taking their attempts. Brenau returned the favor hoping to slip one past the Skyhawks' defense until Erica Burkhardt made the save. As the game inched to the final buzzer, both teams searched for one last spark to steal the game but would not be able to secure the joy of a scored goal resulting in a tie.
